An alteration and renovation of a listed apartment connecting the kitchen to the living space, providing an additional bedroom whilst retaining, restoring and revitalising existing historic architectural features throughout.
Located at the opposite end of the apartment, our Client’s kitchen was disconnected from the living space. The proposal relocated the kitchen to the oversized dining space adjoining the front drawing room where the rooms were then connected to one another through existing double doors allowing a large open plan entertaining space with dual aspect which was also capable of being closed off to create an intimate living space when required. The works also included the renovation of the existing entrance hall, renovation of the existing bathroom and provision of an en suite to the new bedroom, formerly the kitchen space.
Involving various bold design moves, the project balances the architectural language of the New Town with contemporary living. Our proposal has breathed new life into this Category B-listed home.
